NASHVILLE - Maria Teresa High, age 63, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021. She was born in Rio Rico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on October 4, 1957. She was preceded in death by her father, Eduardo Macias; and her son, Carlos Alberto Garcia.
Maria enjoyed baking cakes for family and friends for over 20 years. People came from all across eastern North Carolina to Virginia to get her special cakes and pastries. Maria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Maria is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Thomas High; her mother, Leonor Martinez Macias; her children, Ricardo Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, Ramon Garcia, Jr., Allen High, and Hope High Bowen; her grandchildren, Jesslyn Marie Hernandez-Garcia, Julissa Anne Garcia, Diego Benecio Garcia, Noah Alexander Garcia, Abigail Bullock, Savannah Rae High, David Allen Bowen, III (Tripp), and Brianna Nicole Bowen; her siblings, Tomas Macias (Irma), Maria De Los Angeles Morales (Ermeregildo), Lorenzo Macias (Rosa), Noemi Rebeca Barrientos (Rey), Jorge Eduardo Macias (Tina), Eddy Macias (Irma), Lucila Rush (Paul), and Julio Cesar Macias, Sr. (Gracie); and many nieces and nephews.
A Special Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
