Ruth Maxine Brand Little

ROCKY MOUNT – Ruth Maxine Brand Little, age 80, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024. Born in Kearney, NE on March 5, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Henry Frank Bernard Brand and Ruth Evelyn Harrold Brand. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Frankie, Eldon, Harold, Robert, Richard, and Kenneth; and her sisters, Merna, Arlene, and Patricia. Ruth loved sewing and making jewelry for her family and baking her wonderful pecan pies. She enjoyed going out to eat, loved strawberries with whipped cream, enjoyed playing cards, and gardening, as orchid was her favorite flower and lavender was her favorite color. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and will be missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by her sister, Donna Cusick and husband, Jack, of Littleton, CO.; her children, Jamie "Doug" Little and wife, Diana, of Raleigh, Sharon Howard of Rocky Mount and Jeanette Little of Portland, OR; her grandchildren, Samantha and Cameron Joyner, Zoe Howard, Emma Little, and Ben Little; her great-grandchildren, Haylee Joyner and Erin Joyner; and her daughter-in-law, Uli Gratzel. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.   4. This was a good day for me and mom!! We went to vote together and then had lunch that day and we laughed a lot!! Good memory!!

    I will never forget the time you came & stayed with us for a week. You made several Barbie doll clothes, the one I remember the most was the beautiful wedding dress you made for my blond Barbie, & a blue bridesmaid dress for my brunette Barbie.
    You & my mom kept sneaking around the house scaring each other. We could hear you laughing outside!! 😊
