Martalicia “Martha” De La Fuente

ROCKY MOUNT - Martalicia "Martha" De La Fuente, age 53, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020. She was born in Hidalgo, TX on July 10, 1967. She was preceded in death by her father, Ismael Flores. Martha was known by many for her contagious smile, laughter, and welcoming personality. Throughout the years, she would welcome most anyone into her home always offering them guidance and love, that to many of her "adopted children", she became known simply as "mom". Her giving and caring nature defined the phrase, "would give the shirt off of her back". Martha would share her joyous laughter with many over the years along with her quick wits and all-around knowledge. A darling wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring daughter, sister, and friend to many, Martha will be forever missed and never forgotten. Martha is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jaime H. De La Fuente of Rocky Mount; her sons, Jaime H. De La Fuente, Jr. and wife, Brayonna, of Rocky Mount and Adrian De La Fuente of Greensboro; her daughter, Lucero De La Fuente of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Alanna Marie De La Fuente, Mya Isabel De La Fuente, and Jayla Joy De La Fuente; her mother, San Juana Flores of TX; her brothers, Mario Flores of TX, Jose Flores of FL, and Ismael Flores, Jr. of Nashville; her sisters, Maria Flores, Felicitas Flores, and Isabel Reyes all of FL; her fur-son- Ziko; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Father Tim Meares celebrating. Burial will follow the Mass at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
