To Charlie, a great friend

I first met Charlie in Junior High School at RM Wilson. Charlie and I became good friends in the early 70’s. He was a great guy to call your friend. He was always coming up with something exciting to do. He went about everything with great vigor and determination to experience things to the extreme. One Sunday we left his car at Webb’s Mill in Spring Hope and we walked the railroad track, 20 miles, to his home in West Haven. We bought 10 speed bikes and road to Emporia Virgina, 70 miles, spent the night and came back the next day. Next, we road to Raleigh on the hottest day of the summer and came back the next day. We also took our bikes to the Blueridge Parkway and road. We went snow skiing in Vale, Aspen, Crested Butte, New Hampshire, Killington Vermont, Stowe Vermont and Mount Sutton Canada. We backed packed into Pisgah National Park, 8 hours, spent the night in a tent and came out the next day. Only say 4 or 5 people and then a big snake. In 2018 Charlie went to Israel with us and we visited 60 different sites in 11 days. Charlie will be missed. He was the best friend anyone could have.
