William Nelson Warren

William "Bill" Nelson Warren, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mount Olive on November 07, 1923, son of the late Bernice Warren Sr. and Marion Jordan Warren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernice Warren Jr. and Errol Jordan Warren. Bill was the owner and operator of Warren's Tire Center for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II and receiving the Purple Heart and the Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also an Eagle Scout. He will be remembered by his wife of 58 years, Frances "Bug" Pullen; daughter, Gaye Moore and husband Wayne; granddaughter, Arrington Moore; sisters-in-law and their husbands; Patsy and Milton Dickens, Barbara and John Langley, both of Rocky Mount, Marie and Ted Perritt of New Bern, and Lynda and Bob Fisher of Florida; plus many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev Peter Bynum officiating. The family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC.
