William Donald Fisher

Rocky Mount - Don Fisher, 82 passed away Friday, May 13, 2011. He was born in Edgecombe County, August 12, 1928 to the late George D. Fisher and Eura McDuffie Fisher. His wife Esther Manning Fisher preceded him in death.
He was a chemist for Burlington Industries, served in the Marines and attended UNC Chapel Hill.
Surviving is his step-son, William Williams III and wife Susan of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Scott Williams and Katie Ferreira; great-grandchildren, Sadie Williams and Dylan Ferreira.
A private service will be held at a later date.

Don was my friend. Both of my parents entered Breckinridge Nursing Home in October 2009. Mr. Fisher was the friendly voice of those living there for me. He helped me many times in keeping up with my parents care. I am forever grateful to him for telling me about my Mother’s wandering outside the facility. He cared for everyone and always had a smile. My Mother’s stroke sent her to skilled nursing in Tarboro and my Dad wanted to be with her so they entered the Fountains of the Albemarle. Today, my Mother lives with me since my Dad died last July. I will always remember Don as a great conversationalist and a very caring man. He was a blessing to me. Connie Hull
