Willa Mae Rees Wagner, age 74, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 10, 2013. Born in Perry County IL on April 17, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Elza Rees and Eva Moore Rees. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Wagner of 39 years; brothers, Rueben John Rees, William Elza Rees, Howard Rees and Daniel Rees; sisters, Marie Rees Rosenberger and Eva Virginia Rees Bierman;
Willa was a telephone operator with Carolina Telephone for 25 years. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church for several years.
She leaves behind three sons, Randall Paul Wagner and wife Cheryl of Burke VA, Todd Nolan Wagner and wife Paulette of Elizabeth City and Clay Michael Wagner and wife Jan of Williamston.; daughter, Ronda Wagner Sickels and husband Bryan of Raleigh; grandchildren, Justin Michael Wagner, Jaimie Lynn Wagner, Taylor Marie Wagner, Victoria Frances Wagner, Rebecca Lynn Wagner, Gavin Kane Asbury and Kristian Isaiah Asbury; brother, James LeRoy Rees of Murphysboro IL; and sister, Judy Kay Rees Mitchell of Modesto CA.
A service to remember Willa will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Grisham officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30am prior to the service and other times at home. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 South Church Street, Rocky Mount NC 27804.

I worked with Willa as an operator. She was a very sweet lady and I enjoyed working with her. I didn’t know about her death until reading about her death on here. Sorry I missed her funeral. I would have gone to it! God Bless her family! Patricia Joyner
