WARREN WILDER GOLD - age 57 passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022. Born on April 16, 1965, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, he was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Benjamin Miller Gold and sister, Lee Bennett. Warren is survived by his mother, Cora Lee Gold; brother, Benjy Gold and wife, Dianne, of Tega Cay, SC; wife, Cheryl and three daughters Anna, Emily and Elizabeth and his grandson Carter.
Warren had a lifelong career in sales, having never met a stranger, he excelled beyond measure. He always had a story to tell and seldom took no for an answer, at least the first time or two. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, from Leggett to Alaska. Warren especially loved Lake Gaston and Pirates Cove where he earned one of his many nicknames as "Mayor of the Lake" or "Mayor of the Cove." Warren also loved to boat and to ski at which he was especially talented.
Warren was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, Rocky Mount baptized and confirmed as a child, but he came to have a personal relationship with Christ through the help of the late Rev. Jim Alley of First Baptist Church, Rocky Mount an avid hunter, fisherman and one who never met a stranger either!
His family hopes you will join them in cherishing the countless memories whenever you see a deer, a duck or a wild turkey; a sunset over the ocean, the lake or the sound or whenever someone loudly exclaims, "Cheers!"
Warren's family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

I basically grew up at Lake Gaston in the 70’s and 80’s and Warren was a fixture at the clubhouse. Always joking and laughing with a constant smile on his face. Always seemed larger then life to me, even though he was only five years older. My thoughts are with all of the Gold family.
We were neighbours of Mrs Gold’s for many years, please know our condolences are sent to the family. Warren loved to drop over to chat.
I am so sorry to see of Warens passing – I was a neighbor for a while on Pinecrest – Warren had a sense of humor and certainly Loved his daughters – My sympathy to Cheryl and his family – Jim Johnson
Dear Cora and Benjy, We were so sorry to hear about Warren. We know the pain and grief you’re experiencing and pray that memories from friends give you some comfort. We’re at the lake now and remembering antics of Warren and Benjy racing out on their jet skis, skiing barefoot behind their boat. Remembering Warren taking his Dad’s fishing boat and Dr Gold yelling Warren, don’t you take my boat, Warren, don’t take that boat and Warren just sped off! Love and condolences, Elbert and Carolyn
We are just learning of Warren’s passing. My husband met Warren while we were vacationing at Pirates Cove! Rented his condo there many times after that. We talked to Warren and Cheryl on occasion. I honestly never met either of them but you would think we were best buddies no matter how long in between chats. Warren and my husband hit it off right away. So very sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. We still vacation at Pirates Cove every year and think of him every time we are there. Our sincere condolences to the family. Hugs to Cheryl!
