Virginia Mae Bunn Goodrich passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014. Born in Alma, Michigan on February 20, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Bunn and Pearl Sigourney Bunn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Kenneth Goodrich and son, Robert Cass Goodrich.
She graduated from Lansing Business College and was the secretary to the manager of Reo Motor Company of Lansing, Michigan. She moved to Bethesda, Maryland with her family in 1943. She studied art and sculpturing and at the completion of her studies, Virginia became a member of Montgomery Art League, Rockville Art League and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She competed in art and sculpturing contests in Washington DC and Montgomery County, winning numerous awards in oils and sculpture. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Rocky Mount Art League.
She leaves behind; two sons, Kenneth Goodrich Jr. and wife Georgeanne. of Los Angeles, CA and Craig Goodrich and wife Tracey of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter, Susan Smith and husband Kent of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren, Amy Goodrich, Traci Dorf and Kenny Goodrich III, all of California, Taylor Goodrich and Hunter Goodrich of Gaithersburg MD, Austin Smith and wife Katie and Michele Smith, both of Raleigh, NC; and great-grandchild, Cody Wolf of California.
She will be buried at a later date, alongside her husband, at Arlington National Cemetery.
