Victoria Pope Johnson

Rocky Mount - Victoria P. Johnson age 86 passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Nash General Hospital. She was born February 8, 1925 to the late Roscoe and Cuzzie Pope of Johnston County. She was a member of West Mount Baptist Church. Victoria retired from Barcalounger after twenty-five years of service. She resided at the Bullock McLeod Senior Complex for the past five years in Rocky Mount and had made many friends while there. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Kermit R. Johnson, Sr.; five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Faye Lynn (Walter) of Rocky Mount and Edith Baker (Joe) of Wilson; one son, Kermit R. "Rudy" Johnson, Jr. (Doris) of Rocky Mount. She was a well-loved Granny to seven grandchildren: Shannon Medlin (John) of Rocky Mount, Christie Edgerton (Paul) of Wilson, Kimberly Stewart (David) of Rocky Mount, Bruce Baker (Ruhamah) of Sims, Angela Lynn of Rocky Mount, Maria Judge (Harry) of Greenville, and Luke C. Smith of Rocky Mount. Thirteen great-grandchildren: Ashlea and Amanda Smith, Anna Grace, Alaina and Abby Stewart, all of Rocky Mount, Corbin Baker of Sims, Isaac and Elizabeth Edgerton of Wilson, Wyatt Judge of Greenville, Ashley, Chelsea, Mandi and Marianne Medlin all of Rocky Mount. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Walter and Faye Lynn at 5483 Nobles Mill Pond Road, Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be held in the Wheeler and Woodlief Chapel on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Tim Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
