Thomas”Red” Guy Pridgen

ROCKY MOUNT - Thomas "Red" Guy Pridgen, Sr. age 93, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012. He was born December 24, 1918, son of Jesse Jones Pridgen and Mary Moore Pridgen. "Red" was a life member of DAV Chapter, the American Legion and VFW 2057. He was also an active member of Sunset Baptist Church. Mr. Pridgen is survived by his wife of 70 plus years, Thelma Lamm Pridgen; two daughters, Paulette Pridgen, Mary Leigh Wood and husband Tommy; one son, Anthony Pridgen of Rocky Mount; brothers Clyde Pridgen of Rocky Mount and Bunyon Pridgen of Winterville; grandchildren, Paul and Shannon Robbins of Durham, Jeff Wood of Rocky Mount, Ashleigh Wood Weir of Farmville and Marie Pridgen; nine great grandchildren. "Red" was preceded in death by his son Thomas Guy Pridgen, Jr. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home. Pastor Robin Fisher will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service. Committal will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
