ROCKY MOUNT – Terri Roberson Gurganus, age 62, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on August 3, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Lynwood A. Roberson, Sr. and Eva Winstead Roberson. Terri was married to the love of her life, Lenny, for 40 years, and their love only grew stronger with each passing day. Her daughters, Katie and Samantha, were her pride and joy, and she would go to great lengths to ensure their happiness. Terri cherished spending time with her loved ones, especially during the holidays, where Christmas was always a grand celebration. Terri was a warrior, fiercely battling Renal Failure Disease for 21 years. Her resilience and determination were awe-inspiring, and she never let her illness dim her bright spirit. She was a fierce protector of her family, especially her daughters, and her grandkids brought her immense joy. Terri loved basking in the sun, and spending time at the beach was one of her favorite pastimes. She was also an animal lover, with numerous dogs that she adored. Classic rock music was her jam, and she and Jack attended many concerts over the years. Terri will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, strength, and courage will live on. Terri was a devoted wife, mother, Gringle, sister, aunt and friend, and her love for her family knew no bounds. Terri is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack Lenwood “Lenny” Gurganus, Jr.; her daughters, Kaitlin “Katie” Gurganus Culler and husband, Dylan, of Castalia and Samantha Gurganus Edwards and husband, Jonathan, of Winterville; her grandchildren, Madelynn Ruth Culler and Alexander Franklin Culler; her brother, Lynwood A.
