Stephen Ike Walker

ROCKY MOUNT - Stephen "Steve" Ike Walker, age 73, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on July 4, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph Samuel Walker and Carrie Jane Owens Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Samuel Walker, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Tony Spears; and his cousin, Jimmie Lee Walker. Steve worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He worked in construction and was a longtime employee of INCO, Inc. There was nothing he could not fix. Steve was a very private man. He loved to fish and to cook out. Steve is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Walker Proctor and husband, Al, of Wilson; his sons, Stephen Walker and wife, Stacie, of Rocky Mount, David Walker and wife, Temple, of Rocky Mount, and Joey Walker and wife, Julie, of Rocky Mount; their mother, Muriel Stoddard Walker; his grandchildren, Kali Williams, Joshua Walker, Liza Jayne Walker, Julianna Turner, Michael Turner, Dylan Walker, Matthew Turner, Hunter Walker, Sammy Walker, and Charlotte Turner; his sister, Carolyn Jane Spears of Greenville, FL; his niece, Kathleen Spears; his nephews, Gary Spears, Chris Walker, Brent Walker, and Jeremy Walker; and special family members, Betty Walker, Jamie Lindsey and Jessica McCarren.
