Sara Delia Taylor Puckett

Sara Delia Taylor Puckett, 87 went to heaven on Saturday, March 5, 2011. She was born in Edgecombe County, July 18, 1923 to the late Leon Hicks Taylor and Ruby Roberson Taylor. Sara was the administrator of a family care home for over thirty years, and a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three loving children, John G. Puckett, Jr. and wife, Gayle of Carolina Beach, Ruby Elizabeth Tyndall and husband, Mike of Virginia Beach, VA and Nancy Puckett Murray and husband, Lensey of Whitakers; four grandsons, Gene Babb, Randy Puckett, Rob Puckett and Travis Babb; sister, Julia Searcy; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Section 59. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-8:30p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Nancy and Lensey Murray.
