Samuel Knox Stanley

ROCKY MOUNT - Sam Stanley passed away July 4, 2011 at his home, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Joan Stanley; sons Jimmy Stanley and his wife Michelle and their daughter Katlyn, Brian Stanley and his son Dash; sisters, Faye Cooper and family and Lucille Faulkenbury and family. Sam was employed by Braswell Memorial Library. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Everyone who met Sam loved him. He knew no strangers and he will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, Sam asked that you make a donation to Braswell Memorial Library. The family wishes to give special thanks to Lyn Bradshaw with Hospice for her help and compassion. There will be a celebration of Sam's life at Birchwood Country Club from 7-9:00pm on Thursday, July 7, 2011. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
