Ruth Lilley Lilley, 90, of Plymouth, NC, passed away at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount on August 9, 2012. Two daughters survive her: Judy Lilley Mayo and husband, Lyman, of Plymouth, and Edwina Lilley Duckworth and husband, Charles, of Nashville. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Trey Mayo and wife, Annie, of Rocky Mount, and Julie Cannon of New Hall, CA; one great granddaughter: Charlotte Anne Mayo, of Rocky Mount. Two sisters survive her: Margaret Harris of Bear Grass, NC, and Pattie Ray Spruill of Roper, NC. There are also many nieces and nephews who survive.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband: William Edward "Ed" Lilley and her parents: Sylvester and Myrtle Chesson Lilley; three brothers: Ralph, Sylvester and John Speight Lilley; three sisters: Elizabeth Smith, Blanche Hardison, and Lorena Furlough.
A memorial service will be held at Roper Baptist Church on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 11 am. Visitation will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall, and at other times at the home of Judy and Lyman Mayo, 184 South River Road, Plymouth, NC.
