Roger Franklin Nash, 77, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was born December 10, 1932 in Wake County, son of the late Lonnie L. Nash and Mary Weaver Nash.
Roger served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also made his career in the insurance business. He retired from Liberty Life after 32 years of service. He was a member of Falls Road Baptist Church.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Sylvia DuBree Nash; daughter, Gwen Chase and husband Brock of Rocky Mount; son, Ken Nash and wife Debbie of Canton, Ga.; grandchildren, Meredith Parker and husband Kevin of Greenville, Christian Chase of Rocky Mount, Drew Nash, Jared Nash, Graham Nash, and Landon Nash, all of Canton, Ga.; and sister, Sylvia Talton of Wilmington.
A service to remember Roger will be held at 6:00p.m. Friday evening, October 22, 2010 in the chapel at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday morning at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh NC.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Falls Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 722 Falls Road, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
