Rodneyann Coberly Peyatt

February 24, 1967 ~ January 3, 2022

Rocky Mount - Rodneyann Coberly Peyatt, age 54, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022. Born in Beaver County, PA on February 24, 1967, she was the daughter of the late Rodney Lamont Coberly and Joan Kennedy Coberly. She was also preceded in death by her sister Rodna Ann Coberly. A devoted Christian, loving mother, and beloved Mamaw. Rodneyann was one of those people that was easy to love. She loved serving God by serving those in need. She was a wonderful preacher's wife, supporting Hance in their outreach ministry. Sharing the gospel while providing meals to those God placed in her path. Her actions made it abundantly clear how much she loved her children, family, and husband. So much so that people thought Hance's children were her natural children. Although we will miss her very much, we all know that she's with the Lord. She no longer suffers from a body that gave her much pain for many years. She can now dance in the clouds, pain free. Rodneyann is survived by her husband of 20 years, Hance James Peyatt of Rocky Mount; her daughters, Erica Marchaland (Adam) of Bunn, Danielle Peyatt (Lorie Petway) of Elm City, and Michelle Maynes (Brandon) of Elm City; her sons, Aaron Perry (Vada Taylor) of Bailey, and Seth Peyatt of Rocky Mount; her 11 grandchildren; her sisters, Barbara Peddycord (Jim) of Ocklawaha, FL and Ruby LaRue (Richard) of Wallace; 1 niece; and 3 nephews. A Memorial Service to celebrate Rodneyann's life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. 9. RodneyAnn was a very beautiful and wonderful person. She never met a stranger. She loved unconditionally and was always there to help in whatever way she could. I remember doing outreach ministry with her and Hance and the rest of the ministry team. She put together a wonderful reception with the help of some other friends for my wedding and Hance walked me down the aisle. I remember going on a road trip with them to Virginia and meeting the family and eating deer which I loved. RodneyAnn was a good cook and always invited us to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She always had good advice and open arms for a hug when you needed it. I will never forget doing the play with them at church at Gold valley. You will always be missed and loved and never forgotten. Rest in heaven! See you when I get there.

  11. Family and friends, we’ve prayed a lot for Rodneyann the past few weeks. I believe our Father in heaven saw her love for Him in her heart and brought her to be with Him forever. For He makes all things new and wiped away the tears in her eyes. Let us rejoice and give thanks for all things for it the will of our Father who is in heaven through His son Christ Jesus for us. Amen and Amen.

  12. I remember when we were young and we got on a tire swing and got it going really high and the rope suddenly ripped apart and we went straight to the ground and just laughed and laughed, she was a good cousin and a good person and will forever be missed.
