CASTALIA – Robert “Kent” Narron, age 70, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on July 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Narron, Sr. and Carrie Adams Narron. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy Lee Narron, Jr. and wife, Jean; and his great-granddaughter, Kinslee Faith Pendergrass.
Kent was a very loving, hard working family man. From coaching his sons’ football and baseball teams, only ever missing one game. Kent was an adventurer, he was always down for a spur of the moment road trip. He was an avid fisher, taking any opportunity to spend time on the water. Kent was a jack of all trades, working in the mechanical, electrical, and maintenance trades eventually retiring from Rocky Mount Overhead Doors in 2017. He began working for Allegiance Overhead Doors, as a proud dad and operations consultant.
Kent leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Tharrington Narron; his four sons, Steven Narron and wife, Beth, of Nashville, Adam Narron and wife, Amanda, of Nashville, Charles Narron and wife, Laura, of Wilson, and Brent Narron and wife, Jamie, of Castalia; his ten grandkids, Kyndall, Chloe, Katelyn, Jacob, Ashton, Hunter, Timmy, Maggie, Ayden and Jason; his two great-grandkids, Saydee and Leah; and his beloved sister, Carolyn Abrams and husband, Cooper, of Zuni, VA.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Kent’s life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bishop Carroll Wiggs officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

Mr. Narron was always nice to my family. Every time I saw him he had a smile on his face.
