Raymond Joseph Robinson

April 21, 1933 ~ May 27, 2012

Raymond Joseph Robinson, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Nash General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he graduated from Xavier High School in New York City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to a successful career as an engineer in the soft drink industry; during which he and his family traveled and lived in many different locations in the United States, Saudi Arabia and The Netherlands. Ray and his wife settled in North Carolina in 1999; most recently in Rocky Mount. He was involved in several community organizations including the Rocky Mount Senior Center and the local Democratic Party. Ray and his wife Lee (nee Ebeling) celebrated 55 years of marriage in April of 2012. He is also survived by four children; Tina Nomura, Mark Robinson and his wife Susanna; Lisa Magalio and her husband Bill and Keith Robinson; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. A memorial service to remember Ray will be held at 7:00pm Monday, June 04, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Father Tim Meares officiating.
