Peggy Marie Stalls

Tarboro-Peggy Marie Stalls, 75 passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011. She was born in Martin County July 19, 1935 to the late Roman Haywood and Ethel Whitley Stalls. Peggy was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dearly loved her family and loved to cook for them. Her specialty was chicken pastry and fruit cake. She also loved to fish. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, William Herbert Hopkins, brothers, James Henry Stalls, Kenneth Stalls, a sister, Mary Manning and her companion of thirty years Ira Norris. She is survived by her daughter, Grace S. May and husband, Gene of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, John Carter and his fianc, Antoinette Labriola, Amanda Carter and her friend, Jason Foster, Alan Hopkins and Holly Hopkins; great grandchildren, John David Carter, Katelyn Foster and Angelina Knott; sisters, Virginia Sawyer and Evelyn Bohn; brothers, Bobby and Dillion Stalls; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hopkins, and a special caregiver, Kienesha Ebron. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
