Patricia Sawyer Maxwell

Patricia (Pat) Sawyer Maxwell passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010. She was born March 12, 1937 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Hugh and Mildred Sawyer. Pat was married for 36 years to the late William George (Sparky) Maxwell; sister to the late Hugh (Sonny) Sawyer Jr and Rodney Sawyer; Great-Grandmother to the late Easton Lee. Pat retired from Sprint/Carolina Telephone after 30 years of service. Pat loved to play bridge and watch any sporting event on television with her dearest companion, Zena. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Valerie Zoblosky Kern of Mesa, Arizona, her son, Jay Zoblosky of Mesa, Arizona; five step-daughters, Sally Bridgewater, Connie Maxwell, Amy Edenfield, Dee Warren and Marni Maxwell. One step-son, William George Maxwell Jr.; grandchildren, Amber Kern Kool, Heather Kern, Elizabeth Bridgewater, Trevor Bridgewater, Ryland Bridgewater, Winna Bridgewater, John Edenfield, Erin Warren, Jack Maxwell , Ethan Maxwell, Haley Zoblosky and Logan Zoblosky; Great-Grandchildren, Paityn Kool, Presley Kool and Chance Lee. A memorial service to remember Pat will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Dr. Carlton McKita officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service. Special thank you to Oasis Home Care and her dear friends, Karen Hammock, Doris Chandler and Dee Dee Cherry and step-daughter, Dee Warren who were there to listen, assist and act, but most of all they loved her and cared for her until the end.
