Patricia Ann Taylor Farmer

January 28, 1945 ~ July 12, 2012

Patricia Ann Taylor Farmer, age 67, went home to Heaven on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in Edgecombe County on January 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Roy Taylor and Maggie Peoples Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Farmer and brother, Earl Taylor. A member of Proctors Chapel Church for over 55 years, she served on numerous committees within the church. She taught 4 and 5 year olds in Sunday School for 47 years. She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, Ervin Farmer; daughter, Leigh Ann Farmer; son, Hank Farmer and wife Robin; grandchildren, Taylor Farmer, Luke Farmer and Sydney Farmer; sister, Rachel Daughtridge and husband Charles; sister-in-law, Barbara Clark and husband Charles; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 7:00pm to 8:30pm Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the home. A “Going Home” service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Proctors Chapel Church with Dr. Walt Cooper, Rev. John Wood, and Rev. John Melancon officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Crocker and his staff and the Community Hospice nurses especially her CNA, C.C. for the care and compassion shown to Patricia during her illness.   1. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Farmer family. I knew Mrs. Farmer from long ago, school days. She, and her entire family, always seem to embody love and happiness. I saw her service was called a going home service, very appropriate. I know she is one of the smiling faces I will want to see when I get to heaven. God Bless.

  4. Ervin, Leigh Ann & all the Family, we want to extend our deepest sympathy to you’ll on the loss of your loved one. We know she was a special person and had a very caring & loving way toward everyone. We will always remember celebrating in 2009 our 50th WEHS Class reunion at Bo’s and how she made sure everyone was Happy and enjoying themselves, and welcomed us back anytime.
