Otis Andrew Sherrod
March 12, 1933 ~ February 3, 2022
ROCKY MOUNT - Otis Andrew Sherrod, age 88, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on March 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Percy Andrew Sherrod and Lillie Mae Sherrod. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Driver Sherrod; and his sisters, Estelle Winstead and Margaret Worrell.
Otis was a Corporal in the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He loved his country and his family. Otis was a great carpenter and he enjoyed making furniture, fishing, and having BBQ's with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Otis is survived by his children, Rex Sherrod (Kimberly) of Rocky Mount, Pam Griffin (Ruffin) of Rocky Mount, Debbie Sherrod of Morrisonville, NY, David Evans of Dortches, Glenda Bradshaw (Robert) of Aventon, and Pam Evans of Sharpsburg; his grandchildren, Chris Bulluck, Eric Robbins (Amanda), Travis Robbins (Ashley), and Latisha Vernon (Alan); his great-grandchildren, Austin Bulluck, Keegan Bulluck, Colton Robbins, Bailey Robbins, Nicholas Vernon, and Michael Vernon.
A Private Graveside Service to celebrate Otis' life will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

To the family of Otis (Red) as we always called him, I am so sorry for your loss You all will never know how much we thought of him and Mary, two of the sweetest people we have ever met My Mom lived next door and they were like family to us. When my Mom was so sick, they always checked on her everyday to make sure she did not need anything while we worked.
