GRAHAM - Nancy B. Fisher, age 86, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, to meet her Lord and Savior. Born in Nash County, NC on November 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Palmer Vaiden Boyd and Eula Cooper Boyd Freeman.
Nancy was a graduate of Red Oak High School and graduated class valedictorian. She attended St. Mary's College for women in Raleigh and then graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville with a teaching degree. Nancy taught elementary school for many years and was loved and admired by her students. Many of those students called on her in later years for advice. She was a longtime member of Red Oak Methodist Church in Red Oak, NC. Among Nancy's favorite hobbies were rearing two children, watching college basketball, and gardening. She had a bounty of friends. Many of those friends have left this life, and she has now been reunited with them.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Joseph Burke Fisher of Graham, NC and Brian Scott Fisher of PA; and her one grandson, Wilson Alexander Fisher.
A Memorial Graveside Service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, NC with Rev. David Joyner officiating. The attire is casual.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy's memory to Red Oak United Methodist Church, PO Box 66, Red Oak, NC 27868 or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
