Muriel Hahnle Horton

Muriel Hahnle Horton, age 89, passed away peacefully Monday, February 18, 2013. Born in Suffolk County NY on January 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George David Hahnle and Margaret Heyer Hahnle. She is preceded in death by her husband, George F. Horton Sr. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Muriel graduated from high school in Lindenhurst NY and continued her education at the New York School of Dietetics. She and her husband owned and operated Horton Dental Laboratory in Rocky Mount for over 40 years. She was a member of West Haven Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount. She leaves behind two sons, George F. Horton Jr. and wife Sylvia of Chesapeake VA and James F. Horton and wife Evelyn of Whitakers; grandchildren, Andy and wife Courtney of Middlesex, Leslie and Katie of Whitakers, David of Chesapeake VA; and step grandchild, Ethan of Middlesex. The family will receive friends 1:00pm to 2:30pm Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm following the visitation at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Connie Button officiating.
