Michael Bruce Coley

SHARPSBURG - Michael “Bruce” Coley, age 55, passed away Thursday, March 01, 2012. Born in Nash County on August 07, 1956, he was the son of late James Edward Coley Sr. and Annie Ezzell Coley. Bruce enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. A loving husband, father and “pa-pa”, he leaves behind his devoted wife of 38 years, Brenda Vick Coley; son, Christopher Bruce Coley and wife Tabetha of Elm City; grandchildren, Allison, Mackenzie, Logan and Timmy; sister, Patricia Coley Joyner and husband Lynn of Elm City; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Saturday, March 03, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Bruce will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm Sunday, March 04, 2012 with Pastor David L. Proctor Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Allen and Becky Humphrey and Lynn Joyner for all the care and support given to Bruce.   1. We have only known Bruce and Brenda for a couple of years, but in that short time they have become like family. The last thing I remember Bruce saying to my youngest son, Avery, was I love you buddy! That was just the kind of person he was. From Sharpsburg , N.C. Mr. Bruce and Mrs.Brenda both have always been there for me and if i need to ask a question they were always there .I Enjoyed so much going over there durring the summer or anytime i see them out just to talk to them .Last Thing Mr. Bruce told me was I love you and gave me a hug and told me he hoped i got to felling better and that the doctors at duke could find out what was going on that himself and Mrs. Brenda would keep me in prayer and I told Mr. Bruce I would keep praying for him and he smiled and said Thank you .Mrs. Brenda and Chris and Family I may only be 10 years old but I will keep you all in my prayers. My mother and Father and Grandma Said they love you all too if you need anything we are just across the street and a phone call away.
