Marjorie Page Tanner

August 30, 1932 ~ August 24, 2014

Marjorie Page Tanner, age 81, fought a good fight, finished her course, kept her faith and received her crown of righteousness from her Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Pauline Page, husband H.M., sisters Lois, Patricia Ann and Jean, brothers Sonny Boy and Harold. Marjorie was the first of twelve children born to Jack and Pauline Page on August 30, 1932 in Nash Co, and shared her birthday with two younger brothers, Harold and Dennis. Being raised on a farm, Marjorie always knew the value of hard work and was ready to do her part and more. She met Henry (H.M.) Tanner and was married on December 3, 1949 and was together for 52 years when he passed away January 6, 2002. Through this union, they were blessed with two children and two grandchildren. Then in the summer of 1962 while working in her garden she met the greatest love of her life, Jesus Christ, and for the next 52 years she enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior with all her heart. Marjorie was a faithful member of Grace Free Will Baptist for 12 years, and continued her faithful Christian journey at the North Rocky Mount Church of God for the next 40 years. Marjorie loved her church, hearing and reading Gods Word and listening to gospel music and looked forward to sharing her delicious home cooked food and famous apple jacks with her church family. Her faith, devotion and thankfulness for the many blessings she received from her Lord spoke clearly to her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the times they spent together on holidays and any occasion that brought them together to share food, music and fellowship. Surviving are son Ernie Lee (Debbie). Her daughter Cathy, grandson J.P (Angie) and granddaughter Amy (Ian), great grandchildren Jonathan and Hunter, brothers Donnie (Gloria), Dennis (Sallie), Bill (Cathy), Ray (Julia), Clyde (Patsy) and Phil (Diane), sisters-in-law Alice Tanner and Margie Proctor, brothers-in-law Murray Evans and Horace Kerman, special cousins-in-law Betty Ray and Sue Batchelor and many nieces and nephews. 1. My deepest sympathy to all in your family for the loss you have suffered. Mary was certainly gifted with special mightiness to have had such a long life. (Ps.9010). May the God of all comfort be with the family during this difficult time. Wonderfully, God has promised to end death forever and soon reunite us with our dear loved ones (Rev 214; John 528, 29) on a paradise earth. May this sure hope bring you comfort.
