Margaret Brown Johnson, 77, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Halifax County, NC to the late Charles and Mary Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Frank Ellis; grandson, Ray Ellis; sisters, Mildred Hayes and Ruthie Kennedy.
Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Tammy Edmondson of the home, Betty Pierce and husband, Daniel of Battleboro; sons, Terry Johnson of the home, Butch Johnson and wife, Becky of Nashville, Tommy Johnson and wife Glenda of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Malinda, Cathy, Kim, Wayne, B.J., Chuck, and Frank, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Brown of MN; brother, Danny Brown and wife, Marilyn of Dudley, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. David Browder and hospice nurses, Chrissy, Bridget, Shanna, Donna and Kim for the loving care they gave.
Visitation with friends and relatives will be 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2011 in the chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Piper officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
