Lula Mae Johnson Bulluck

Lula Mae Johnson Bulluck, age 88, graduated to Heaven on Sunday, September 09, 2012. A native of Rocky Mount, she was born on November 04, 1923, the daughter of the late Joe Ruffin Johnson and May Williams Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, W. R Bulluck Sr.; three infant brothers, one sister, two daughters, Ann Bulluck Spencer and Peggy Reynolds Winstead; one son, William R Bulluck Jr.; and one grandson, William Johnson Carter. Lula Mae worked at the Telephone Company, Sears & Roebuck and First Baptist Church Daycare. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church for 52 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher, in the BTU, G.A.s, as church secretary and a member of the WMU. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter, Beth Bulluck Carter and husband Donald; daughter-in-law, Betsy Daughtridge Bulluck; brother, James Johnson and wife Peggy; grandsons, Donald L. Carter Jr., William R Bulluck III and wife Kim, Robert F. D. Bulluck, Jon Caleb Bulluck and wife Brittany; granddaughters, Sandy Thompson Howard and husband Mike, Mary Beth Bulluck Dilday and husband Jason, Kassi Mae Spencer Evans and husband Chris, Michelle Winstead, Melissa Winstead Daniels and husband Ray; six great-granddaughters; and nine great-grandsons. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Lula Mae will be held at 2:00pm Thursday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
