  1. We, too, mourn the loss of a member of our Bishop family. We are thankful Don and his family were able to join us recently to honor his service to our Country. May God bless each of you with strength and courage in the days ahead. With heartfelt condolences, Office of AdvancementAlumni Relations North Carolina Wesleyan College

  2. My heart is heavy for your loss. I served many years with LTC Everett and consider him a mentor. I have many fond memories of him and serving on his staff.

  3. Don was a good friend and classmate at N. C. Wesleyan College. We just spoke three weeks ago at the Vietnam Veterans recognition ceremony on the campus of N.C.Wesleyan College. A great man. Miss you, buddy.

  4. The kindest soul I’ve ever met, the sweetest neighbor, and a fantastic family friend. You will be missed greatly. Love and prayers for all.

  5. So sorry to learn of Don’s passing and share sincerest empathy with the Everett family whom I’ve known my entire life. My brother Johnny and I grew up with Sammy in Sunday School and I served under then Captain Don Everett in the 230th NCNG. He was a good officer, loved his country, fellowman and worked to improve our lot in life. In later years I was his mother’s mailman after she moved to Rocky Mount. It has been my pleasure to have known the Everett family and would hope to reconnect with Sammy via email.
