Louise Watson Varnell

February 12, 1946 ~ June 5, 2015

ROCKY MOUNT - Louise Watson Varnell, age 69, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015. She was born in Pulaski, TN to the late F.C. Watson and the late Mary Catherine Farmer Watson. A true family person, she loved spending time with her loved ones, especially her four wonderful grandchildren. An avid reader, she volunteered for the Bulluck School HOST Program and the West Edgecombe Baptist Church Library, where she was a member. She is survived by her son, Mike Varnell and his wife Ellen of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Susan “Susie” Pridgen and her husband Steve of Rocky Mount; her beloved grandchildren, Carter and Micah Varnell and Rebecca and Taylor Pridgen; her sisters, Nancy W. Moore and her husband Ricky, Lisa W. Taylor and her husband Russell, Betty Frances W. Gardner and her husband Wilbur, and Zola Catherine Watson all of Rocky Mount, and Barbara Ann Watson of Wilson, NC ; her brothers, Walter Watson and his wife Amy, George Watson and his wife Windye, Marvin Lynn Watson and his wife Christine, Charles Watson and his wife Betty Ruth and David Watson and his wife Kim all of Rocky Mount, and James Watson and his wife Polly of Taylorsville, NC; and her caregiver, Patsy Wilkins of Rocky Mount. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Varnell; and a brother, Glenn Watson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 North Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Burial will be at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
