Lenora “Faye” Murray Lane

Lenora “Faye” Murray Lane, 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after complications from surgery on Friday, September 28, 2012. She was born in Durham, NC on September 24, 1940 to the late Woodrow Wilson Pittman and Dixie Lenora Murray Pittman. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 44 loving years, Richard “Dickie” Lane of Rocky Mount, her three children; Brian Lane of Rocky Mount, Renee Lane Daniels and husband Keith Daniels of Raleigh, Chris Lane of Rocky Mount and special friend Tammy Matthews, her beloved granddaughter Jordan Dale Lane who affectionately had her known as “MeMe”, and daughter in law, Heather Lane Brutto. Faye is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Jean Murray of Spring Hope, Martha and Jimmy Parker, Nancy and Don Manning, and Joe and Dot Lane, many beloved cousins, and people she called family which include dear friends Linda Proctor and Jeannette Alexander. She will also be greatly missed by her 4-legged friends, Woody, Ace and Crosby. Faye graduated from Benvenue High School. She spent her entire life in the restaurant industry becoming a familiar and loved face at many restaurants in Rocky Mount including Meltons, Michael Ds and Western Sizzlin. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Rex Hospital, especially the nurses in the ICU unit and 6E for the care and attention they provided during her time there. A celebration of life will be held at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, October 2, 2012. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Even though for the last ten years Christopher and I have not seen like we should have, you have ALWAYS had a very place in out heart and in our day to day lives.Christopher loves the Lane family and always has, Mommie Lane as Christopher called you, you were a great Grandmother to him and get lots of credit on showing him what love is , so that he can show others today. I have seen you often in Rocky Mount and we still were able to laugh and cut up like we always did… I hope that one day I can become even half of the women you were on this earth, now GOD has you in his house and he has one of the best angels that I know.   4. Renee, Brian, Chris and Daddy Lane, I am soo sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of your mom and your family! I spent soo much time in your loving and fun home as a pre-teen.   5. Our hearts are saddened to hear of Faye’s death. We have known her for years, seeing her at various restaurants where she was employed. She always referred to our youngest son as her peanut butter and jelly boy. She will be missed by many!!!May God Bless you and your family during this time of sadness.
