Lennie McGuire Everett

Lennie McGuire Everett, 83, a retired Registered Nurse, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014. Born in Pender County, she was reared at Oxford Orphanage, now the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford. Mrs. Everett graduated from the North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and served as a nursing instructor at Park View Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from Nash General Hospital, having worked in Coronary Care, Patient Education and implemented and served as Program Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Outpatient Program. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, William L. Everett of Nashville, NC; son, William L. Everett, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Nashville, NC; grandsons, Gresham, Seth and Andrew Everett; and her sister, Ann Jordan of Ellicott City, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565 or the William and Lennie Everett Nursing Scholarship, Nash Community College, P.O. Box 7488, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Wheeler-Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC, officiated by Elder Randall Saunders and Dr. Frances R. Eason. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804. Although I had not seen Aunt Lenny in many years, I will always remember her fondly and was so glad that you were able to move them into their new house near you.
