Leasa Renee Smith, 41, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was born in Nash County on August 16, 1971 to Sidney Earl Harper and Mavis Harrell Bailey. Leasa was preceded in death by her step-father, Gene Bailey. Leasa was a very talented and creative person. She enjoyed drawing, writing poems and knitting. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. Left to cherish her memory, her parents, mother, Mavis Harrell Bailey of Rocky Mount; father, Earl Harper of Nashville; former husband, Wayne Smith of Castalia; daughter, Megan Smith of Castalia; son, Dakota Smith of Castalia; sister, Janet Pridgen and husband Johnie of Nashville; uncle, Linwood Harrell of Rocky Mount, Roger Harrell and wife Mary of Wilson. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Friday, December 07, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Leasa will be held at 2:00pm Saturday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
