Rocky Mount – Judith “Judy” Carol Collie Jones, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.  She was born in Nash County, NC on January 28, 1962.  She was preceded in death by her father, Vann Ruffin “Boot” Collie, and her sister, Sandra Jeanette Collie Lloyd.

Judy was a woman of great faith and a devoted member of the Rocky Mount Seventh-day Adventist Church. With a warm and giving heart, she dedicated many years to her calling as a LPN, finding fulfillment in caring for others.  Beyond her profession, Judy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a passion for gardening and working with flowers and plants, loved fishing, and had a deep affection for animals. The beach was one of her favorite places, where she created cherished memories with her loved ones. Above all, Judy treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.  A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many, Judy’s kindness and compassion touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Judy is survived by her mother, Jeanette Turner Collie of Rocky Mount; her daughters, Jessica Carol Howell of Rocky Mount and Michelle “Brooke” Viverette and husband, John, of Sharpsburg; her son, Stephen Michael Howell of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Landon Michael Howell, Peyton Michelle Cartledge, Lillian Grace Howell, Ian Viverette, Bella Cartledge, Liam Cartledge, Anna Brooke Viverette, Braylon Howell, and Levi Cartledge; her brother, Christopher “Chris” Joel Collie and wife, Kim, of Nashville; her niece, Mackenzie Leigh Collie of Nashville; her nephews, Joseph D. Lloyd of Rocky Mount and Samuel T. Lloyd of Rocky Mount; and dearest friends.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Elder Dwight Davis and Elder Jermaine Lennon officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

The family would like to especially thank Judy’s caregiver, Velma Sharpe-Johnson, for all her care, love, and support.
