Joshua Wilson Lane

Joshua Wilson Lane Jr., 59, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was born April 27, 1951, in Edgecombe County, the son of Joshua Wilson Lane Sr. and Pauline Bradley Lane . He was preceded in death by his father.
Wilson was employed by Poppies International as a maintenance supervisor. He truly enjoyed his job and co-workers. As an avid fisherman, he enjoyed many happy days fishing for largemouth bass. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Birchwood Country Club and the Rocky Mount Chub Club. Wilson was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church and found great happiness, comfort and support from his church family. He was truly a loving and giving man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Wilson is survived by his wife of 14 years, Phyllis Edwards Lane and two daughters: Jennifer Phillips, and husband David, and Nicky Lane, all of Tarboro, NC, son Paul Phillips and wife Jessica of Rocky Mount; Grandchildren: Kendall Phillips, Tristan and Grayson Phillips; his mother Pauline Bradley Lane , brother Vinson "Vent" Lane and wife Crystal; sister Michelle Warren. He is also survived by his special "Little Man" Zeus and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Monday, October 11, 2010 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Wheeler & Woodlief Chapel with the Pastor Michael Coggin officiating..
