ROCKY MOUNT - Joshua "Josh" Allen Hodge, age 37, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 31, 2021. He was born in Nash County, NC on December 12, 1983. Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Allen Hodge and Edith Hodge; and his maternal grandparents, Calvin Winstead, Rosa Winstead, and Jeanette Rowland.
Josh loved being outdoors on four-wheelers and ATVs with family and friends. He also enjoyed guns. If it had a trigger or a throttle, he was all about it. Josh was a very giving person to everyone he knew and he never met a stranger. He loved his family, especially his sons, friends, and his fur baby, Lexi. Josh will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Josh leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of seven years, Elizabeth Pearson Hodge of Rocky Mount; his sons, Skyler Hodge of Pinetops, Camdyn Hodge of Tarboro, and Dylan Hodge of the home; his parents, Herbert "Gordon" Hodge and Janet Faye Winstead Hodge of Rocky Mount; his brother, Shane Hodge and his wife, Tina, of Rocky Mount; his nieces and nephews, Summer Hodge, Storm House, Tyler Hodge, and Lane Hodge; his great-niece, Blakely Hodge; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Josh's life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Howard Kendrick officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home until 9:00 PM and at other times at the homes of Josh and Elizabeth or Gordon and Janet.
A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash Street N, Wilson, NC 27896.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Josh's memory to c/o: Elizabeth Hodge & Family, Life Changing Christian Outreach (LCO), 223 SE Main Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.

I am so sad to hear of Josh’s passing. We were best of friends during the early school years. He would ride his bike to my house almost everyday. He would stay and eat dinner, we would go to church together. He was just the best friend a girl could have. Like a brother really. As we got older our lives took different paths. But I will never forget my childhood friend. I will be praying for his family and sweet children during this difficult time.

So much to say I dont even know where to begin. You were more like a brother than a cousin always with some work when work got slow. Ill never forget you helping move that piano. Almost didnt think we were gonna get it. I remember the mechanic towing always there when you need em Josh . The world definetely lost a good worker. He will be missed.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember Josh as a little boy from church, always laughing and full of joy. I looked forward to his hugs every service. You all are in my prayers.

I You have my most heartfelt condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. Revelation 214 is a beautiful reminder that God will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

It has been 5 months and it still feels like it was yesterday whenever I got the news, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get over the fact that I lost my uncle. I will always carry you in my heart and no matter what you will always be my coolest uncle. I will miss you forever and always and ill see you again real soon . love you so much .
