Joshua “Josh” Alan Edwards

March 31, 1978 ~ October 26, 2021

ROCKY MOUNT - Joshua "Josh" Alan Edwards, age 43, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was born in Franklin County, NC on March 31, 1978. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Alvin Watson. In his shortened life, he saw and did things that most people would not be able to fit in 10 lifetimes. His most favorite memories were traveling the world with his friends' band, Catharsis, as a roadie in the 90's and again in the early 2000's. Josh leaves a legacy of friendships all over the world. He was always interested in spending quality time with his friends and his family. To know him was to love him. Josh had a kind soul, and he knew how to make anyone feel special. His smile and his laughter would change the whole mood of the room he was in. Josh was an avid reader of science fiction and his non-fiction contemporaries were Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard. He was an endearing husband, a loving son, and a fierce friend. Josh is survived by his wife of 4 years, Stacy Watson of Rocky Mount; his parents, Tony Edwards and Dottie Peoples Edwards of Surf City; his mother-in-law, Lois Dail Watson of Rocky Mount; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Special Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Josh's memory to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
