John Wayne Lancaster

John Wayne Lancaster, age 66, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home. Born in Edgecombe County on July 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Henry Thad Lancaster and Sophia Grant Lancaster. He retired from Textilease Corporation after 36 years of service. He leaves behind his sisters, Virginia L. Perry and husband Jesse of Rocky Mount and Margaret L. Arnold and husband Ken of Henderson; and brother, Bennett Lancaster of Rocky Mount. Visitation with the family will be 7:00pm to 8:30pm Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember John will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, October 30, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. William Grisham officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Family Cemetery.
