John Wayne Howell

Rocky Mount - John Wayne Howell, 70, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011. He was born May 3, 1941 in Rocky Mount, son of the late Othoa Griffin Howell and Gladys Williams Howell. Wayne retired from Abbott Labs after 26 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Riley Howell of the home; two sons, Riley Riggins and Heath Riggins both of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Riggins, and his dog Chance. Funeral service will be 7:00pm Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Carleton McKita officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Pineview Cemetery. Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
