Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
JoAnne, I know you loved trees. I hope many will find shade and comfort and company under its leaves. A memorial tree was planted in memory of JoAnne Scalf . Plant a Tree
I am so grateful to have known JoAnne. She often comforted me during my husband’s cruel journey into a rapid form of Parkinson’s. She stopped to hug me in the middle of Harris Teeter while I wept and shared her own stories of losing Don. I came to treasure our daily fence visits at the end of my walks – a few minutes of brilliant conversation and laughter. She was a crucial part of my healing journey and now she is on her own journey. I wish her Godspeed. Those who loved her are left in shock and grief, but I’m sure she is hugging all her little dogs and telling us to remember to laugh. Many condolences to her family and to her little dog, Joy.
Ken and Kay, sorry to hear about Mrs Scalf. She was a wonderful person.
Joann, You have been such a wonderful friend to my family but especially to me with our special bond. I am sad to know you are gone, but knowing how peacefully you left us gives me comfort and I am glad I could be with you. Kay, Ginna, Ken and Sue, you guys will always be like family. My prayers are for your comfort in the days and weeks ahead as your lives adjusts to your mom’s earthly absence. May all her special memories bring you joy! Love to yall.

I so enjoyed my visits with your Mom and Joy. It was so pleasant to sit in her sunroom and have her name all the different types of birds that came to her feeder. She lived a great life- and loved to reminisce about all her adventures with your Dad. She was so excited about being included in the golf tournament the past few years. She enjoyed her weekly grocery outings with Kay ! I’ll miss her as I know you will, too
