Jesse Thomas “Tommy” Cobb, Jr.

ROCKY MOUNT - Jesse Thomas "Tommy" Cobb, Jr., age 84, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Born in Halifax County, NC on April 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Jesse Thomas Cobb, Sr. and Thelma Elizabeth Lowe Cobb. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lowe Cobb and Jesse Earnhardt Cobb; and his sisters, Betty Jean Cobb Francis, Doris Cobb Lee, and Janice Faye Cobb Hollis.
Tommy graduated from Scotland Neck High School in 1954. He retired with the City of Raleigh Public Works Department after many years of dedicated service. Tommy enjoyed dancing, playing the harmonica, gardening, spending time with his family, and talking to all his friends and loved ones. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 13 years, Alberta Jones Cobb; his sons, Christopher Thomas Cobb (Kendall) of Nashville and Timothy Allan Cobb (Erica) of Cary; his daughter, Amy Cobb Medlock (Brian) of Crouse; his grandchildren, Corbett Thomas Cobb, Erin Elizabeth Medlock, Anna Elizabeth Cobb, Truitt Thomson Cobb, and Mary Vivian Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Tommy's life will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, on Hwy 258 in Scotland Neck with Pastor Scott Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tommy's memory to your favorite ministry.

Uncle Tommy was an amazing Uncle. He lit up the room with his bright smile and sense of humor. His family was everything to him and he loved them so much. Most importantly he loved God and reminded us all how important our relationship with God was. Thank you for a life lived with humility. We will miss you but see you again.
