Jean Hasty Hodges

Jean Hasty Hodges Rocky Mount, NC- Jean Hasty Hodges, 80 passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, on August 11, 1929, to the late Lewis Ransome Hasty and Virginia Barnes Hasty. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved cooking and baking for her family. In her spare time, she loved to play Word Jumble. She is survived by her loving husband James Edward Hodges of the home; daughter, Lynn Sprinkle and husband, Ron of Troutville, VA; sons David Hodges and wife, Ginny of Rocky Mount, Jimmy Hodges and wife, Jo Anne of Roanoke Rapids; four grandchildren, Anna Hodges of Rocky Mount, Brian Hodges of Raleigh, Susan Perdue and husband, John of Clayton and Conner Sprinkle of Troutville, VA; one great grandchild, Taylor Richardson of Rocky Mount; a beloved pet, Toby; brothers, Lewis Bailey Hasty and wife, Sally of Peachtree City, GA, and Charles Hasty and wife, Lois Anne of Edisto Beach, SC. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Stephenson. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Harris and Rev. Charles Hasty officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00p.m. to 3:00 pm.
