ENFIELD - Jean Bobbitt Aycock, 79, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was born on April 12, 1930 in Enfield, daughter of the late Boldie Owen Bobbitt and Mary Lewis Bobbitt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Earleene Bobbitt Phillips and three brothers, Boldie Owen Bobbitt, Jr., Walton Henry Bobbitt and Bert Arnold Bobbitt.
She was a member of Turkey Branch Baptist Church in Enfield where she was a member of the Choir and also a Sunday School Teacher. Jean was also President of the Womens' Missionary Union at Turkey Branch Baptist Church. Jean retired from J.C. Penney's in Rocky Mount after twelve years and also worked in the retail business for Western Auto and 301 Auto Parts, both in Enfield.
Left to cherish her memory, are her loving husband of 57 years, Wiley C. Aycock; brothers, St. Clair Bobbitt of Enfield and Donald Bobbitt (Linda) of Rocky Mount; 6 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m.Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield with Rev. Howard Guidry presiding. The family will receive friends 7-8:30p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home, and other times at 109 Opossum Trot Court, Rocky Mount.
