Jane Pearce Langston, 76, died in her sleep Monday, May 14, 2012 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living after many years of illness.
She had entered United Hospice on Friday, May 11th.
Jane was born May 1, 1936, in Goldsboro, NC to Luther Levi Langston and Tessie Pearce Langston. She lived in Michigan and Virginia, but spent most of her years in North Carolina. Jane worked for Nash General Hospital and Community Hospital as the switch board operator. She also worked for many years as a personal care assistant.
Jane enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and especially Coca-Cola. She had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. She was a Christian and a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles. She is survived by two sisters, Virginia May Burlingam and Emma Ann Burton of Panama City, FL, and her church family.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 21, 7 p.m., First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Boulevard. Associate Minister Peter Harper will officiate, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Kathy Jo Mitchell. Contributions made to the church in Jane's memory will underwrite her final expenses.
