A man of great faith, he was a member with his wife, Ann, of First Baptist Church. He loved his home on the Tar River Reservoir where he, family and friends enjoyed their pier. One of his most recent joys was his great-grandson, Warren. Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Ann Whitaker Bishop; his daughter, Catherine Bishop (Michael Owen) of Columbus, IN; his son, Fred Bishop of Rocky Mount; and his daughter, Robbie Bennett (Dan) of Rocky Mount.
