James Jay Heckman

James Jay Heckman, age 63, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1947, son of William and Gladys Heckman. James was a retired superintendent for D.J. Rose and Son. In addition to his father, Jimmy was predeceased by his wife, Darlene C. Heckman. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Gladys Heckman; brothers, Rick and Billy Heckman, daughter, Theresa Brunner; son, James J. Heckman II; daughter, Kathy Sewell; and grandchildren, Justin Lauf, Sami Lauf, Kayla Sewell and Trey Heckman. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00 - 8:30p.m. Wednesday, February 02, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate the lives of James and Darlene will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday afternoon at Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 8144 Town Creek Road, Rocky Mount.
