Isaac “Ike” Lafayette Campbell

Isaac “Ike” Lafayette Campbell III, age 68, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Vidant Hospital in Greenville NC. Born in Lewisville NC on August 23, 1944, he was the son of the late I.L. Campbell Jr. of Lewisville NC and Rebecca Priddy of Hampton VA. Ike served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and then graduated from East Carolina University in 1971. He retired from Hardees Food Systems. Ike was also a member of First Christian Church of Rocky Mount where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and Building Superintendant as well as serving on numerous committees. Ike is survived by his wife Neta Clinkscales Campbell; one son, Andrew Isaac Campbell of Rocky Mount; and brother, Ronald Campbell. A service to remember Ike will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at First Christian Church with Rev, Kathy Jo Mitchell and Rev. John Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be held after the committal service in the church fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount NC 27803.   1. Mrs. Campbell & son, I am very sorry to hear of Ike’s passing. He and I worked together in the same department at Hardee’s before his retirement. He was a nice man and he kept us laughing. I will keep the family in my prayers. May God continue to comfort you. Glenda R. Ellis
