Inez Barnette Williams, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Born April 13, 1925 in Edgecombe County, she was the daughter of the late Verner Lee and Nannie Ila Barnette. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Morris and brother, Boyd Lee Barnette.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves behind one daughter, Anne Williams Chesson and her husband David M. Chesson of Greenville South Carolina. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Jared Delaney Chesson and his wife Mary Eileen Chesson of Greenville, South Carolina and Reverend Jennifer Chesson Dill and her husband Jeffery Adam Dill of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by one sister, Janie Elizabeth Barnette Joyner of Farmville, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
Inez and Morris were well known in the community for the restaurant and motel business,The Morris House, The Walnut Shop, The Graybar and Hunts Motel.
Inez was an active member of Edgemont Baptist Church and was very faithful to her Love Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Edgemont Baptist Church, 1611 West Mount Drive, Rocky Mount, N.C. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
